Three new finds for people who love design

Lately I have been hyper-fixated on patterns, specifically looking for ways to weave motion into my home. As you may have noticed, I naturally gravitate toward solid materials in varying textures - linen, velvet, sisal—which are beautiful in their own right, but I feel like my space is missing that element of visual intrigue. Which brings me to my latest venture down the rabbit hole in search of interesting pieces, where I uncovered the artistry that is known as Aptware.

A short drive away from picturesque Gordes in Provence is a small town renowned for the art form that is inspired by the region's colored soils, which potters emulate through mixed and marbleized faïence (tin-glazed earthenware) in pretty palettes. Aptly named 'Aptware', these ceramics are created exclusively here and have been for over 300 years.

This particular style is known as terre mêlée, which is meant to simulate the natural marbling of stone by finely mixing and kneading different colors of clay together and pressing them into enchanting forms. FRENCH TWIST ACCESSORIES

You know the drill: you watch one video on social media, and suddenly you are infiltrated with dozens of similar ones. In this case, I welcomed all that came because it was about how to do a French Twist. A style I have always wanted to master, but after my experience with approximately 112 bobby pins, I gave up.

But this latest flood of inspiration has picked me right back up, and also, let’s be real, it was also an opportunity to shop for a cute new accessory. I watched this one and this one many times, and I am getting pretty good at it! I’ve put together a curated edit of items of my favorite pins and combs. I currently own the bottom right tortoise ones from Bigelow, and they really lock my hair in place! Explore the chic combs here.

SKIFFERS

File this under “things I didn’t know I needed”. First, I must call out the name: how cute is skiffers? These decorative pieces of hardware are both beautiful and functional, as they are meant to protect 90 degree corners in your home. Beyond protection, they add a touch of vintage or modern elegance to a room. Which naturally is what drew me to them in the first place. I have never been more concerned about the corners in my home.

I have these in my cart and ready to go. From my research, they seem pretty easy to install. I’ve watched many videos; all you need to do is mark the holes, drill small pilot holes, and screw the corner guard into place.
